The 2022 PUBG MOBILE National Championship South Asia Wild Card (PMNC) was hosted by Tencent in partnership with InGame Esports and concluded successfully in December 2022.
Esports teams from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Bhutan and Mongolia competed for a spot in the top 5, which allowed them to enter the official PUBG MOBILE Esports ecosystem as well as a USD 30,000 prize pool. The top 5 teams qualified for the next PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) South Asia Spring in early 2023.
Tencent continued working with InGame Esports based on the success of past projects like the marketing campaigns for the South Asian PUBG Mobile Pro Leagues and PUBG MOBILE Global Championship in 2022 . This led to the partnership evolving from marketing and content creation to tournament production, with PMNC South Asia Wild Card being the first partnered event. The TV-grade studio that was used for PMNC was situated in Sri Lanka and the viewership of the event required coverage in 6 languages. Broadcast talent were flown to Sri Lanka for the grand-finals live-stream. They were also able to take advantage of the beautiful beaches of the country as Sri Lanka is a known travel destination.
The action will continue for the teams that qualified through PMNC, as they will compete in the PUBG MOBILE Pro League South Asia beginning in early 2023. All South Asian professional teams will compete in this competition for a ticket to the 2023 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship.
